Why I chose Red Bluff over bigger cities

Curious what people think. The unemployment rate is 5.9%, which is about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.
