Not sure if this has been asked before, but I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $32,083, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is excellent in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
