Housing in Red Chute compared to Minneapolis

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and Median household income is $79,119, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Red Chute sits at 641.8 per 100K. Rent is about $1,821/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $79,119 in Red Chute. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Downtown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Korean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
