Weekend activities in Red Lion?

Hey everyone, Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $172,000, which is actually reasonable.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much established but now it's pretty good.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great craft beer places. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 58, moved here 11 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Uptown and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The community vibe situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for retirees. tough vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Sunset for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The weather scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from New York about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
