Should I move to Red Oak or stay in Houston?

Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and Median household income is $104,125, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Red Oak sits at 126.6 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
