Pros and cons of Red Wing after 6 years

Hey, We have two kids and The median home value here is around $224,800, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Is this normal for Red Wing? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

No regrets on my end..
