Anyone regret moving to Redding?

Hi all, We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,323/month for a decent place. Median household income is $69,443, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,323 for rent here. The median home value here is around $363,800, which seems about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely average and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Highland) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
