Co-working spaces in Redding?

Rent is about $1,323/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Worth the trade-offs? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Bought a house here in 2015 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Tampa about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 5 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Midtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Uptown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
