Couple moving to Redding from out of state

Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $363,800 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cheers. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Indian.
