Planning a move to Redlands -neighborhoods?

Hello, I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 72,985, Redlands is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
