Anyone regret moving to Redmond?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I work in food service and With a population of 75,721, Redmond is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $1,091,700 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. Any help is appreciated. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Highland for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- The public transit scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
