Hey everyone, Household incomes average around $162,099 in Redmond. Crime rate is something to consider -Redmond sits at 102.2 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in finance. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
