Job market in Redmond for tech?

With a population of 75,721, Redmond is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 75,721 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What do you all think? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Denver about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much pricey but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is decent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2017 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'm a writer and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
