Hello, I'm originally from Memphis and Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I work in marketing here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is excellent. Happy to answer more specific questions..
