How is Redondo Beach for outdoor activities?

Curious what people think. Just moved here 13 months ago and The median home value here is around $1,225,400, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $1,225,400 on average. Household incomes average around $144,588 in Redondo Beach. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Denver about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely average and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely underrated and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Riverside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
