How are the schools in Redwood City?

Hey folks, Median household income is $150,840, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Downtown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Sunset area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
