Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 2,117 people. You can expect to pay around $1,368 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Francisco about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Moved here from San Diego about 12 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to community vibe but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
