Household incomes average around $79,812 in Reisterstown. The unemployment rate is 6.5%, which is concerning. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Is this normal for Reisterstown? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The housing market is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in North for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The healthcare scene is tough
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely improving and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Riverside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.
