Job market in Reno for tech?

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 269K, Reno is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $78,448 in Reno. Poverty rate is 7.4%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,453/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
