Things Renton needs to improve

Hey, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $631,400, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The food scene is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely excellent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Westside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
