Best industries in Reston right now

Been meaning to ask this. I'm originally from St. Louis and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $616,000, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider -Reston sits at 194.2 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $2,170 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
