How is Reston for outdoor activities?

It's a a smaller city city with about 63,542 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Highland for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is improving

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for work and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The nightlife is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
