Random thought, I'm originally from Austin and Household incomes average around $139,515 in Reston. The median home value here is around $616,000, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
