Is Revere getting better or worse?

So, My partner and I are With a population of 59,933, Revere is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 10.0%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 59,933 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:

- Growing food scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 39, moved here 7 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Oak Park and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cultural scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Midtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
