Top 5 things I love about Rexburg

Alright, Rent is about $959/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 6.0%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $959 for rent here. Poverty rate is 16.0%, which is higher than I expected. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 3 years. Moved from Minneapolis for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is decent - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Limited shopping options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 13 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely improving and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Sunset) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for weather and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The healthcare is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
