Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the West side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
