Is Richardson good for remote workers?

So, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Richardson sits at 143.7 per 100K. Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,825/month for a decent place. With a population of 118K, Richardson is a mid-size city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 24, moved here 4 years ago from Houston. I've lived in East and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Close to major attractions
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
