Quick question about Richardson

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $405,600 on average. Rent is about $1,825/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $405,600, which is pretty steep. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Old Town for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The housing market scene is decent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Francisco about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is average.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.
