Raising a family in Richardson -thoughts?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $96,257 in Richardson. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- The housing market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
