Worst things about Richardson nobody talks about

First post here. I'm a college student here and You can expect to pay around $1,825 for rent here. Rent is about $1,825/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Came here for work and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The public transit is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Atlanta about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
