Why I chose Richboro over bigger cities

Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. It's a a small town city with about 7,033 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 44, moved here 8 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Greenfield and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Limited shopping options
3. The nightlife situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for retirees. excellent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from LA about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
