Moving to Richfield for work -advice?

Just moved here 18 months ago and With a population of 36,725, Richfield is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $320,400, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great BBQ places. I love the pace of life here.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 4 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Limited shopping options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Springfield for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The pet-friendliness scene is solid

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
