Been meaning to ask this. Just moved here 16 months ago and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for Richfield? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (North) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.

I've lived in Riverside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The nightlife scene is improving
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
