Most overrated things about Richgrove

Not sure if this has been asked before, but It's a a small town city with about 2,136 people. With a population of 2,136, Richgrove is a small town. Poverty rate is 31.2%, which is higher than I expected. Median household income is $54,091, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 53, moved here 15 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in East and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The pet-friendliness situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for singles. tough vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The school system situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for young professionals. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
