Is it worth buying in Richland?

Hello, Poverty rate is 16.6%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Baltimore it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
