What Richland does better than anywhere else

Longtime lurker here, I work in insurance and Rent is about $1,146/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 8.9%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $131,300 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 15 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..

I work in marketing here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is underrated. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
