Quick question about Richland

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Richland sits at 170.9 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is decent in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Chicago it's average.
