Starting a business in Richland?

Been meaning to ask this. Crime rate is something to consider -Richland sits at 170.9 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? Cheers. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Boston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
