Longtime lurker here, We have two kids and It's a a mid-size city city with about 115K people. With a population of 115K, Richmond is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 4.7%, which is about average. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
