How is the nightlife in Richmond?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

I've lived in Highland for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
