Anyone work in healthcare in Richmond?

First post here. Just moved here 14 months ago and Rent is about $1,248/month for a decent place. With a population of 12,117, Richmond is a small town. Homes are going for about $229,800 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Does this match your experience? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Came here for cost of living and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The outdoor recreation is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
