Best areas to explore in Ridgecrest?

OK so Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Ridgecrest sits at 488.0 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,138 people. Rent is about $1,178/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'm a contractor and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The nightlife is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much growing but now it's tough.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
