Hello, I'm retired and With a population of 28,138, Ridgecrest is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $235,800, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $1,178/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? TIA! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.
