Raising a family in Ridgecrest -thoughts?

Anyone else feel this way? I work in retail and You can expect to pay around $1,178 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks!

I work in marketing here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is excellent. Happy to answer more specific questions..
