What Ridgecrest does better than anywhere else

OK so Homes are going for about $235,800 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 15 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been here 5 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Southern places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in education. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
