Unpopular opinion about Ridgefield

Anyone else feel this way? You can expect to pay around $1,935 for rent here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $115,676 in Ridgefield. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Maple Ridge area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 1 years. Moved from San Diego for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is solid - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Property taxes are high. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Pittsburgh it's average.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely decent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Highland) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
