Job market in Ridgefield Park for tech?

OK so Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Ridgefield Park sits at 53.9 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 7.7%, which is concerning. Household incomes average around $98,184 in Ridgefield Park. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 13 years. Moved from Denver for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is decent - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited entertainment options. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is improving - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Old Town) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
