Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $259,600 on average. Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,204/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I've lived in East for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- The public transit scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..
