How is Ridgewood for outdoor activities?

Curious what people think. Military spouse here. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,076 people. Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
