Working remotely from Ridgewood

I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $2,340 for rent here. Homes are going for about $882,700 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in South for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The housing market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
